St. Mark's News & Events for January 14, 2007
Greetings as we begin another week!
Well, we are finally back to Ordinary Time after all the Advent and
Christmas celebrations that we experienced. Now we can take a small
breather until Lent begins in the middle of February. Last week we
viewed a powerful film on vocations to the Priesthood and Religious
life and I heard wonderful comments on how effective it was for
getting out the message. This week and next week, we welcome
Alberto Portella, the architect of our Family Life Center and Master
Plan, to come and speak to us about the process we will be undergoing
in the building of a new Church for St. Mark the Evangelist. I think
you are going to find these presentations extremely informative and I
hope many of you will decide to take part in this process as we move
forward in our future. Let’s pray that all our hearts will be opened in
promoting vocations and helping to provide a place for God’s Word to
be proclaimed. May God bless us all.
Again, there is no golf to report on this week although I know
exactly what I must do in order to play this dumb game a little better.
There is no short course on improvement so I have to get out there
and just do it! (Humm.., I think I’ve heard that tag line before).
Anyway, I’ll be out there hopefully this week since after Christmas,
all the golf balls are piling up with no woods or lakes to hit them in.
Well, that is all for now. Continue to enjoy the gift that God has given
us in each other.
Peace,
Fr. David
