St. Mark's News & Events for January 7, 2007
Greetings as we begin another week!
By now the New Year is in full swing and all the holiday festivities
have come to a close. Im a little exhausted by now as I am sure most
of you are also. I think we need to add more time between Christmas
and New Year so we can catch our breath! Maybe we can move the
New Year to July since thats a pretty low key month and it needs
something to get us out of our summer doldrums. Just a thought!
This weekend we will be celebrating Vocations to the Priesthood and
Religious Life. A powerful film will be shown at all the Masses on the
Priesthood and I sincerely pray that it will promote a young person
to think about serving God in this way. Unfortunately, the film only
speaks of Priesthood but there are a variety of ways in serving God.
The Religious Life is also a profound way of offering service to
Gods people. The work of the Religious in our history has touched
the hearts and souls of countless people and wouldnt it be a blessing
for our parish family to have vocations spring up from our great
parish. Let us pray for these men and women that they may listen to
Gods call in their life in whatever vocation He calls them to and the
courage to say YES LORD!
Well, that is all for now, continue to enjoy the gift that God has given
in each other.
Peace,
Fr. David
