St. Mark's News & Events for March 25, 2007
Greetings as we begin another week!
Well it's getting closer and closer for the Elect and Candidates as they prepare for the great Easter Vigil in which they will be fully initiated into the Catholic Church. These last three weeks the Elect have been going through the Scrutinies and at the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, they will have completed the last step and we pray ready for the Easter Vigil. It has been a long process for them and after speaking to some of them, I realized what a profound affect this process had on each one and that their relationship to Christ has deepened. Continue to pray for them as they continue onto the Mother of all Vigils on Saturday, April 7th.
The weather has been very nice lately so I decided to go out to the golf course and hit the ball around. I have to say it was the best round I shot in months! It also helped that I was playing by myself and there was nobody around to check on my score. However, you will have to take my word for it since I will have to answer to God if I cheated. Well…….maybe I should have added a few more strokes now that I mention it.
There is still time to make this lent a good one if you haven't been able to keep up with all your promises and sacrifices. We have almost two weeks left before Easter arrives. So let's make these next two weeks one of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving and really experience Easter Joy!
Well that is all for now. Continue to enjoy the gift that God has given us in each other.
Peace,
Fr. David
